Blast from the Past: A Christmas Story

It's that time of year when TBS replays A Christmas Story from midnight on the 24th until midnight on the 25th. Growing up, we watched this movie every Christmas. Is it just me or does playing it 12 times in a row take something away from it?

Anyway, whenever I watch an old movie I always wondered just what the heck happens to some of these actors as time goes on. Like, what happened to Ralphie?




Peter Billingsley has done well for himself. Not only did he avoid shooting his eye out, he aged well. And Vince Vaughn is his best friend, so I guess that makes him cool. He is now a producer and was the Executive Producer on Vaughn's last film, The Break-Up.




And, unlike like Scotty Schwartz, he avoided porn. Having his tongue stuck to a pole was the least of this kid's worries.




Yes, Scotty had some X-rated adventures that really just seem quite sad.




Sadly, Darrin McGavin, who played Ralphie's old man, passed away in February of this year. No doubt he will live on year after year with this holiday classic.
